16/10/2008 - job interview...

Blur and i went for a job interview at Jurong Bird Park today.... haha... think she has a way higher chance of getting that job then me lah...

we were told that our interview with the manager was to be after 4pm today so blur came to pick me at 4.30 pm and we made our way there... i took rescue remedy 3 times (once last night ad twice today) to calm my nerves before the interview...lol...

upon reaching the office, we realised that due to some miscommunication, the people there were not informed that we were coming for an interview... and they were even more puzzled that our interview was after 4pm... LoL... it was quite akward, i can tell u that much...

neways... my interview lasted about 5 minutes or less... blur's was slightly longer... i figured out that she stood a better chance than me lah coz she was asked when she felt is best for her to come for the 1 day tryout and she was told wad position they needed her to fulfill etc... whereas, i didn't get that... the manager just asked what sort of work i did before and explained the 1 day tryout thingy to me...

lol... **sigh** ...for some strange reason, i felt ,while filling up my application form, that the occupation "dog groomer" sounded sooooooooooo much more appealing when i was this angst teenager who wanted to rebel and quit school lah... dosen't sound quite convincing on a resume though... lol... don't get me wrong... after working as groomer for over a year, i give every single groomer out there all due respect... i just hope that everyone else can respect groomers as well and not assume that they "just cut hair" << i get that comment alot from people who don't know how tough the job is...

the manager was nice though... he didn't give me that wierd look **which i usually get** when he read my resume... lol

i'm not embarressed to be a groomer... infact i still do love grooming dogs and making dogs look pretty... i just don't wanna do it as a job... its my hobby... if my hobby is gonna give me so much stress, it won't be much fun anymore would it??

although i know deep down that the chances of me getting a call back for tryouts is very low, i'm glad i went for the interview... the people there were nice **interviewed us even though technically we didn't have an appointment**... and i learnt alot as well... gave me the strength and the motivation i need to strive on and improve myself...

i'm just pretty bumped that i didn't get to give my reason as to why i wanted to work at the bird park :( ... i wanted to work at the bird park because it has always been my dream to work at a local attraction **i happen to be very proud of our local attraction, thank you very much** and i chose the Jurong bird park because i am an animal lover who cares about the welfare of animals especially endangered species and the bird park, like the Singapore zoo and the night safari, works to conserve wildlife. although i may not get a chance to work directly with the animals, i'm proud to be part of an organisation that shares my believes...

although the chances of me getting the job is slim, i still do hope that someday, someone would give me, a person with no work experience, a chance to gain some work experience in fields that i'm passionate about so that i can gain some experience and my resume won't look that pathetic... lol...

PS: i also managed to get a schnauzer snow globe for jadey from the bird park's feathers shop... lol... last piece again leh!! how lucky can i get!! **if u're wondering what has schnauzers got to do with the birdpark, thats something i would like to know as well...lol**

loadsa love,
Chatterbox OUT...
